Frequently asked questions about Earn
Put your balance to work through onchain lending. Borrowers pay interest, and your deposited funds receive a share of it. You earn at a variable rate. Here are the full answers, including the risks.
How does my balance earn?
You choose how much of your balance to keep earning, and it earns up to 4.3% a year, calculated every second, with no lock-up period and no minimum. You watch your earnings come in, in real time, right in the app. The rate is variable: it can go up or down with supply and demand in the onchain lending market. When demand for loans is higher, the yield tends to rise; when it's lower, it tends to fall. That's why the figures you see are estimates at the current rate, not guaranteed. See more on the Yield page.
See more questionsIs Earn guaranteed?
No. It's not a bank deposit and the rate varies. In rare situations your balance can go down. See "Can I lose money?" below.
See more questionsCan I lose money?
Onchain lending carries risks. Collateral and other safeguards help manage them, but your deposited funds and returns are not guaranteed. Lending-market losses, technical issues, or changes in stablecoin value can reduce your balance, while limited liquidity can delay withdrawals.
See more questionsWhat happens if a loan becomes bad debt?
Bad debt can occur when a borrower defaults and the collateral recovered is not enough to repay the loan. The lending market may absorb the shortfall, which can reduce supplier balances. Collateral and liquidations reduce this risk but cannot remove it entirely.
See more questionsAre fees deducted from my earnings?
The displayed APY accounts for the lending vault's performance fees. These fees reduce your earnings and are separate from deposit and withdrawal transfer fees. Transfer fees and token conversion costs are not included in the displayed APY and can affect your overall return.
